Would You Be Ready?

A relationship with God is more than reading your Bible. It’s about being intentional with God in prayer—it’s about your everyday lifestyle—not just on Sundays and at occasional Wednesday night Bible studies—but the way you serve and love others no matter their differences, and how you forgive when someone has done you wrong. There is a big difference between knowing and applying what you know. Maybe it’s time to take a look at our daily lives. Are we trying to act more and more like Jesus? Or are we trying to mark off our Christian to-do list—reading the Bible {check}, showing up for the church potluck {check}, hosting a small group {check}? It’s great to read the Bible and to be involved in Christian groups, but let’s be sure to keep in mind the bigger picture, the purpose for which we were placed on this earth. We get so wrapped up in worrying about things that don’t matter. We stress ourselves out to the point that we lose focus on our calling, then get frustrated because we can’t figure out why we feel stuck or lost. At the end of the day, everything we say, do, or act on will be accounted for. My question for you is this: If Jesus were to return today, would you be ready? Could you honestly look yourself in the mirror and say your life was solely sold out for Him? Did you give your all to honor and glorify Him?

But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. MATTHEW 6:33 NIV

God, I want to be all in. Help me to see the bigger picture so that my life reflects You every minute of every day. May all my actions bring glory to Your name..
