Trust in the Lord with All Your Heart

Your choices have consequences. When you’re not trusting God, trying to do everything on your own, you become frustrated and confused, not sure whose voice is speaking to you. Conflict arises—not just around you, but an internal conflict. It’s costly being outside of God’s will. At the time, it may seem harmless, but it’s a ripple effect. Regret kicks in—now you’re not sure why you can’t hear from God. Why does He seem to be blessing everyone around you but you? Pain follows—feeling so far from God that He could never forgive you nor love you for your mistakes (which isn’t true at all). It’s in your obedience, you protect yourself from so much disaster, heartache, and frustrations. Proverbs 3:5–6 (ESV), which is my favorite verse, tells us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your OWN understanding. In ALL YOUR WAYS acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths” (emphasis added). Regardless of how crazy the path you are on seems, when you are walking in obedience and trusting God, He will continue to guide you and bless you. This path is never easy, I can testify. There are roadblocks, setbacks, bumps, and so on, but to be in the will of God in the midst of all of it is obedience and worth it. It’s trusting His timing, His plan, His process—not our own.

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock. ISAIAH 26: 3-4 ESV

God, thank You for always reassuring me that You have everything under control. When things happen that don’t make sense, I cling to the truth of knowing You are working everything out for my good. You are such a faithful God who always provides.
