The Surface and the Deep

It’s easy to lose sight of the end goal—heaven—when our eyes are solely fixed on the things seen around us. Things may not be ideal, or maybe this is the life you’ve always dreamed of having. We forget this place is not our home, that we are just passing through. And all these distractions of temporary happiness and quick fixes that can only heal surface-level things? No, I want my life to be deeper than that. I don’t want to get so comfortable that when people see my life, they don’t even get to see Jesus shine through me. I want God to wreck me completely, to use me to win souls to Christ, to have my soul be on fire for this Kingdom business. I would rather leave this earth today knowing I was in the will of God, than be living today outside of His will, blinded by these short-lived trends and “fake” pleasures to feed an emptiness. Give me Jesus. Where my peace comes from. Where my source of joy flows from. Where my happiness beyond material things resides.

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. ROMANS 8:28 NKJV

God, thank You for another day. I pray this week I am more intentional with growing closer to You. I ask that Your Spirit continues to lead me as I walk in accordance with Your will. I want my roots to deepen. Your truth is my strength to move and speak to my mountains.
