The Light of Hope and Restoration

You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. MATTHEW 5:16 THE MESSAGE

When we want to add different, vibrant colors to a campfire, there are products we can buy to make it happen. The usual bright orange and yellow hues are there, along with shades of blue, green, and purple. The campfire becomes exciting to watch and holds our attention even more than it would normally be. A single source of heat and light creates a captivating display of beauty.

The light of God is seen a little differently through each of our lives. Not a single person formed by His hand is exactly the same. Our one-of-a-kind personalities create a unique hue. And we have every reason to draw as much attention to who God is, as brightly, boldly, and as of-ten as we can while we’re in this world. Our unique gifts and traits are what make the light of God brilliant and beautiful to those around us. We should never want our light to be subdued or hidden. We’re all created to shine forth the goodness of who He is. We’re alive to bring His love to life with compassion, generosity, kindness, and joy.

If there was ever a time to put more love in our days, it’s now. Even through the most difficult and dark seasons, God is the light that brings restoration and hope. We get to be His kindling! He’ll work through us to rekindle the flames of community, and His light will burn brighter than we thought possible. We’ll need to be paying attention to every open door and opportunity. God will look for lives ready to illuminate the world with love, and we’ll become the attention-getters in the best ways, for the greatest good.

Dear God, In every trial, Your light is our way through. Show me what I can do to bring hope, healing, and love where it’s needed most.
