The Impact of Courage: Focus

[Looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity], who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal] set before Him endured the cross, disregarding the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God [revealing His deity, His authority, and the completion of His work].
Hebrews 12:2 AMP

Reflect on this statement, inspired by today’s Scripture, and let it guide you into prayer:

As I bring my children before You today, my prayer is that they will always—at all times, and in every situation—experience You at the very center of who they are and what they do.

Prayer

I thank You, Jesus, that it is all about You—Your work, Your ways, Your glory, Your life, and Your love. As I bring my children before You today, my prayer is that they will always-at all times, and in every situation-experience You at the very center of who they are and what they do.

May they see You as the one who came for them, died for them, rose for them, ascended for them, and lives for them. May they see You as their high priest who intercedes for them, their shepherd who guides them, their friend who cares about them, their counselor who speaks to them, and the great King of Kings who reigns over them.

May You always have the highest place—in their plans, in their choices, in their relationships, and in their desires. May Your smile greet them each morning; may Your song be within them each day; and may Your hand of tender mercies tuck them into bed each night.

May You always have the highest place in their hearts.
