Small Beginnings

Sometimes our best efforts seem so small. Nothing we do feels like it’s “enough.” We don’t seem to have much influence or impact. We don’t know how we can make a difference, bring about change, accomplish an important task, or achieve anything significant. But God says not to “despise” or look down on small beginnings. From the tiniest seeds grow the biggest trees. And God will help us. He will give us strength. He will give us wisdom and direction. He will bless even our smallest efforts, our tiniest steps—beyond anything we can imagine—when we’re faithful to do what He’s asked us. Don’t get discouraged. Don’t give up or give in. The best is yet to come! This is only the beginning. 

So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. Galatians 6:9 NLT 

Come and see what our God has done, what awesome miracles He performs for people! Psalm 66:5 NLT 

Let us know and become personally acquainted with Him; let us press on to know and understand fully the [greatness of the] Lord [to honor, heed, and deeply cherish Him]. His appearing is prepared and is as certain as the dawn, and He will come to us [in salvation] like the [heavy] rain, like the spring rain watering the earth. Hosea 6:3 AMP 

Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin. Zechariah 4:10 NLT 

Lord, give me the courage to keep on keeping on! Help me to trust that small steps will lead to big ones... and that You will show up. Help me to be patient in the process.
