Safely Held

Do you ever feel like Alice in Wonderland—as if you’ve somehow tumbled down a rabbit hole and everything in your world is now upside down or backward or jumbled? Nothing seems right. Nothing makes sense. You’re falling ... falling ... falling. When will it end? How will it end? 

Maybe you think it’s your own fault, the result of choices you’ve made. Or maybe what’s happening to you is the result of a choice made by someone else. Either way, it’s dark and scary and disorienting. 

But no matter how it feels, you aren’t helplessly free-falling through one disaster after another, spinning wildly out of control. No, through it all, you are being held— gently but firmly—by God. He is in control. And He will never let anything separate you from His love. Nothing and no one can ever take you out of His hands. 

He [God] has said, “I will never [under any circumstances] desert you [nor give you up nor leave you without support, nor will I in any degree leave you helpless], nor will I forsake or let you down or relax My hold on you [assuredly not]! Hebrews 13:5 AMP 

Offer praise to God our Savior because of our Lord Jesus Christ! Only God can keep you from falling and make you pure and joyful in His glorious presence. Before time began and now and forevermore, God is worthy of glory, honor, power, and authority. Amen. Jude 1:24–25 CEV 

I give them a life that is unceasing, and death will not have the last word. Nothing or no one can steal them from My hand. John 10:28 VOICE 

Father God, hold me close—so close that I can hear Your heartbeat. Keep me safe and help me rest in Your love.
