Riding Roller Coasters

The highs and lows even in a single day can send your heart racing, emotions surging from anger to ecstasy in a matter of minutes. Thank God for the emotions! Emotions are a gift that helps connect us to God and others. They let us know we’re human, and very much alive. But they aren’t reliable drivers in the ride.

When we acknowledge that God alone directs our course and stay connected to Him—just like rollercoaster cars always keep on track—we can stay anchored even through the rises and falls of life. The twists and turns in life can be scary and exhilarating, nerve-wracking and incredible, unpredictable and delightful. Through it all, we can smile, knowing we’re held all the while by the strong, certain, and unbreakable grip of God. So today, sit back and enjoy the ride!
