Practice the Golden Rule

Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. ROMANS 15:7 NIV 

I saw a funny meme on Instagram that said, “Hatin’ people ain’t happy and happy people ain’t hatin’.” I couldn’t resist the share. It still makes me smile because it’s so true. If you want to be happy, look for the good in others. Believe the best intentions, give people the benefit of the doubt. Try to put yourself in their shoes and realize that God made all of us entirely different; people won’t always react or think exactly the way we think they should. 

When Jesus said love your neighbor, I’m sure He knew that our neighbors would be different from us. That’s kind of the whole point, isn’t it? We can’t read minds, and sometimes we hurt one another’s feelings without ever meaning to. God gives us SO much grace. Are we quick to extend that to others? Do we jump to conclusions, or do we treat people the way we would like to be treated? Let’s hate less and love more. “It’s hard to be hateful when you’re grateful” (Chris Hogan).
