Our Happiest Moments

We are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works. EPHESIANS 2:10 NKJV
We weren’t created to go through life grinding away our years reaching goals while spending our leftover time reaching out. We need each other, and we need to remind each other on a daily basis how incredibly good God has been to bring us together. The relationships we have are His way of loving us in a very personal way. When we let the rush of life push us apart, we miss out on the fullness of joy God wants us to have.
C.S. Lewis wrote, “As long as we have the itch of self-regard we shall want the pleasure of self-approval; but the happiest of moments are those when we forget our precious selves and have neither, but have everything else (God, our fellow humans, animals, the garden, and the sky) instead.” We were created for good works—the things that have love woven into them and the ways that show the people in our lives how much God cares for them and how present He is. God gets the praise when our priorities are in place—and investing in our fellow humans will always lead to our happiest moments.
Use me for good works today, Lord. I’m thankful to be Your workmanship.
