God-Given Power

My dear children, you belong to God and have defeated them; because God’s Spirit, who is in you, is greater than the devil, who is in the world. I JOHN 4:4 NCV

God’s power is an incredible force that is available to all of us. It is not dependent on our own personal strength or abilities, but it is a gift we can access through our faith in Jesus Christ. Webster’s Dictionary defines power as the “ability to act or to produce an effect.” As Christians, we can tap into God’s power to overcome any obstacle or challenge that comes our way.

In a world where power often determines victory or defeat, we can take comfort in the fact that our personal power may be small and limited, but we are guaranteed victory through the power of God. This power is greater than anything we will ever face in this world, and it is manifested through the Holy Spirit within us.

God can open doors that are closed and close doors that are open. He can stop evil in its tracks and break generational curses. Through grace and by faith, Jesus extends His victory at the cross of Calvary to us, and we can rest assured that we will also be victorious because God makes His victory our own.

It can be easy to forget this truth when we are facing difficult situations, but we must remember that we are stronger than any opposition because our strength comes from Christ. By adopting a God-given mindset, we can look at the world from a positive perspective and have the assurance of Christ’s victory as our guarantee.

If you are struggling to fully receive this truth, let the Holy Spirit minister to the areas of your heart where His assurance does not yet reign. Reflect on God’s victories in your life, remembering how it felt to know you are loved and accepted and rejoicing in the grace provided by the blood of Christ.

Through the Holy Spirit, you can ask for the conviction of truth and enablement to have faith in God’s Word of victory for your life. You can be filled with His affirmation that you are more than a conqueror in Christ and choose to persevere in the knowledge that like Christ, you, too, will be victorious.

Be filled with the goodness of Christ today and watch as that goodness transforms your life. May you always remember that God’s power is available to you, and that you can trust in His victory to overcome any obstacle or challenge that comes your way.

PRAYER

Lord, I praise You, for You know the end before the beginning. I praise You, for You have made a way for me to be called a child of God. I worship You, for You have prepared a table before me in the presence of my enemies. I praise You, for You have gone before me and made a way. Nothing and no one is greater than You. Amen.
