Designer Label

I make no secret of my love for style and fashion. Even as a child actor, I liked the wardrobe part, not just the performing. So you won’t hear me complain about getting to dress up and play Cinderella for an evening every once in a while at a red carpet event.

For all the times I don’t attend the awards shows, I still tune in from my couch along with the rest of America to see what everyone is wearing.

Besides the gowns and tuxes, those events are known for the throng of media. I’m not exaggerating when I say cameras are literally everywhere you look. And each of those cameras represents another audience watching you from somewhere.

Hollywood’s red carpet world may seem a million miles away from your own, but in the most important sense, it’s not. As God’s anointed people, you and I have experienced one of His signature makeovers and the new stylings that go with it.

Our Designer’s label is distinctive. As one of His “stars” who ventures out and draws attention to Him every day, I want to be sure that I’m wearing Him well, exhibiting the modesty, elegance, and class that mark His brand.

Biblically, God offers a few guidelines for those times when the world is watching:

He instructs me to get rid of my dingy, old, ill-fitting clothes and put on the new, tailored gowns that He has made for me (Colossians 3:9-10, 12-14).

He fashions me with the strength and dignity that belong on a virtuous woman (Proverbs 31:25 HCSB).

He prompts me to stand up straight, with my heart and mind focused on things above, not on the things of this earth (Colossians 3:1-2 HCSB).

And He urges me to smile, reminding me of His light within, which turns people’s attention to Him.

Whatever we do, girls, we do it all in the name of Jesus. The world is taking note of what we’re wearing and Who we’re wearing. Now’s our chance to go beyond a fashion statement. Let’s wear Him with pride today.

You are the light of the world… Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:14, 16 NKJV)

I’m so excited to be wearing Your name, Jesus. Help me to not only make a good impression on others but represent how wonderful You are to everyone who’s watching.
