Always the Same

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. HEBREWS 13:8

Raise your hand if you are searching for something constant in your life. Some of us have had friends come and go, or issues in our family. Others have gone from job to job or have had to move many different times.

What a relief to know that Jesus is a constant in our lives. We learned in Hebrews 13:8 that He is the same yesterday as He is today and will be forevermore. He didn’t come to this earth in a beautiful palace but in a stable and in a manger. During His ministry, He went to those in need, those whom others wouldn’t even want to go near or touch, and He healed them. During His life on earth, He showed care, compassion, and love to everyone around Him.

That same Jesus is always present in your life. He cares for you! He loves you! He desires to have you follow Him and have a relationship with Him. He wants you to cast all of your cares upon Him, so that you can be freed of these burdens. He is the Prince of Peace.

As this life can be unpredictable and things come and go, one thing remains the same—Jesus. Houses, jobs, relationships, and friends may come and go, but we can trust Him to be there for us through it all.

The Word of God also stands the test of time and lasts forever. Take time to ponder this beautiful verse in Isaiah 40:8: “The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever.” As other things let us down, fade, or go away, we can rely on this truth to bring us peace and stability in our lives.

GO FOR IT!

Are you seeking something that can be constant in your life? It’s reassuring that it can be Jesus. Today, come to Him in prayer thanking Him for His words in the Bible that were true thousands of years ago and are also true today and will be true forevermore.
