Advancing the Kingdom

Don’t hide your light! Let it shine for all; let your good deeds glow for all to see, so that they will praise your heavenly Father. (MATTHEW 5:15 TLB)

We aren’t merely here to find our purpose; we are here to advance God’s kingdom. That’s our shared calling, master purpose, and ultimate assignment. It isn’t finding your passion… or being a success story… but being a light that points others toward the Lord in all we do. For that reason, God wants you to succeed and to have visibility. God loves glory. He wants others to see Him in us so that out of the observance of how we live our lives, others would see Him. For that reason, our purpose isn’t about us. It’s not about our gifts, talent, passion, or anointing. Those are just tools that equip us to shine and reflect His goodness. Real significance isn’t about you, what you want, how you’re majestically built, or what you love. It’s ultimately about God. Our purpose is to advance and showcase God’s presence, to be a witness to His power. We are created by design to specifically glorify God. Our purpose and life’s mission, then, is more about surrender and service than success. But, to be clear, God loves success too. It is just another pathway that heaven will use to invite more people into God’s presence. How wonderful that God would recruit and design you as an essential part of His eternal plan.

Instead of asking what God wants, how can you find greater significance in asking where God needs you?

Pray:

Lord, use me to expand the world’s perception of You. You are limitless, and I make myself available to be used as Your ambassador in circles large and small. Send me. Amen.
