A Life of Strength

I can do all this through Him who gives me strength. PHILIPPIANS 4:13 NIV

What makes you feel strong? Is it a vigorous walk on a cool morning? A weight-lifting session while the sun rises? Maybe strength for you is completing a tough project after not giving up when faced with obstacles. We often think of strength as a physical quality, but when we look in Scripture, strength is more often used in the context of enduring trial and difficulty. We all struggle with different emotional, physical, mental, and relational challenges. But we can all draw from the same source for true strength to endure whatever comes our way. When we look to our Savior and remember all the trials He endured on earth, we should feel encouraged that He is our source for strength. Our strength alone isn’t enough to carry us through this life, but God’s strength is otherworldly and never runs out. This morning, ask God to fill you with His strength as you approach new challenges ahead.

God, Your strength is never-ending. Remind me to look to You for strength instead of trying to get through my difficult circumstances on my own. Help me to live a life characterized by strength, determination, and resilience. Please give me the courage to face obstacles that seem insurmountable. Help me to not give up easily and to bravely step into the places that make me feel unable and afraid. Thank You for giving me strength when I need it. Amen.
