Daily devotion

Moses protested to God, “Who am I to appear before Pharaoh? Who am I to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt?” God answered, “I will be with you.” Exodus 3:11-12
Like a good teacher and encourager who wants us to grow, God is often leading us into things that make us nervous. He knows what we are capable of because he made us! No woman really knows what she is getting into when she finds out she is going to be a mom for the first time. But she can be 100 percent confident that the Lord will provide grace for the entire journey.
Every new adventure holds something both more and different than what we had planned. But God is not surprised by anything.
And he loves you too much to lead you into something you will not get through. Getting us through tough times—instead of saving us from them—is one way that he shows his love for us. In challenging times, we learn not just what we are made of but more of who God is and how much he cares.
Have you ever felt invisible in your struggle? Have you ever wondered if God is aware of you in particular? Take heart with these truths: God is with you always (Matthew 28:20); he keeps his promises (Hebrews 10:23); he is working for your good so that you are more and more like his Son, Jesus (Romans 8:28-29); and God gives us an advocate and helper in the Holy Spirit (John 14:16-17).
Faith is confidence in what we hope for, a conviction of things we don’t yet see. With faith in God’s promises, you can confidently take the next step knowing that God will bring you through whatever comes.
When you need an encouraging reminder of this truth, close your eyes and say to God, “I know that you are with me.”
