King David experienced victory after victory because he placed his confidence in God, not himself. In tonight's psalm, you can be inspired and encouraged to do the same. When you place your confidence in Him, He will help you rise above your circumstances and bring joy and hope to your heart.  

As you tune out the busyness and troubles of the day, allow your mind to move into the peace and rest of God. Release your worries and your fears. Trust that He will be your strength. Call to Him with your cares and know that He will deliver you through them all. 

May the LORD answer you when you are in distress; 
may the name of the God of Jacob protect you. 
May He send you help from the sanctuary 
and grant you support from Zion. 
May He remember all your sacrifices 
and accept your burnt offerings. 
May He give you the desire of your heart 
and make all your plans succeed. 
May we shout for joy over your victory 
and lift up our banners in the name of our God. 
May the LORD grant all your requests. 
Now this I know: 
The LORD gives victory to His anointed. 
He answers him from HIs heavenly sanctuary 
with the victorious power of His right hand. 
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, 
but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. 
They are brought to their knees and fall, 
but we rise up and stand firm. 
LORD, give victory to the king! 
Answer us when we call! 
PSALM 20 

ADORATION: You can find joy and peace as you prepare for sleep tonight, knowing the Lord will give you victory and peace over your troubles. Imagine Him holding you up with the power of His right hand, not letting any of your troubles or worries reach you. Worship Him for tonight's promises of deliverance; linger in praise for who He is.  

CONFESSION: Let your heart lead you to truth and confess any struggles with trusting God. Ask Him to forgive you and to renew your faith in Him. Be filled with His mercy and grace, and surrender to the inner peace and rest you have in Him.  

THANKSGIVING: Rejoice in His name. Praise God for the times He has helped you overcome difficult circumstances. Praise Him for the times He has delivered you from these trials. Praise Him for the times He has answered your prayers and you have seen victory.  

SUPPLICATION: Lord, I search my heart now and release to You my fear anxiety found there. Help me to completely trust and believe that You will deliver me from these fears as You work on my behalf. Give me the confidence that is mine when I walk in Your way. Give me Your joy and peace through this night as I rest in Your loving arms. In Your holy name, I pray. Amen.
