My lips will glorify You because Your faithful love is better than life. (Psalm 63: 3 NLT)

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power. What do you want? Should I come to you with a rod, or in love and a spirit of gentleness? (I Corinthians 4:20-21)

Father,

Your love is faithful – it is always there to hold me together, no matter the time of day or night. Many times I don’t even deserve it, yet it is there. You love me even when I don’t always love You back, which is humbling. So I will praise You openly and audibly; I sing songs of worship to express the best that I can the immense joy You bring to my heart. You deserve all glory. You alone are worthy.

Lord, I want Your love and a spirit of gentleness! You are love, and love is power – the greatest force in all of humanity. When I wrong someone, I want to be corrected with gentleness, so help me to extend the same response to others who offend me. Help me to stop talking and start doing, to stop knowing in my head and start acting from my heart.

Let love rule. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
