(in)courage Contributor DaySpring Favorite Gifts

Founded in 2009 by DaySpring, the vision for (in)courage was to create an online space where women take turns pulling up a chair to the table, sharing their stories of what Jesus looks like in their everyday and often messy lives.

The name (in)courage represents DaySpring’s goal of bringing women into deeper community with Christ and one another. The (in) means that we are in Christ, connected and in community with each other. From all of this comes true courage.

There are more than 25 women who write regularly for (in)courage and several of them have been there since the beginning. We would like to introduce you to a few of these women as they share their favorite products from the (in)courage line! These are all items that help them live their faith and connect with the women in their lives:

A Moment to Breathe
Reading a story from 'A Moment to Breathe' is the final step in my morning routine after Bible reading and journaling. It takes a passage of scripture and gives it a practical application and provides a glimpse into another woman’s life and point of view. At first I didn’t want to mess up its pages—such a lovely book!—but now I've designated my pink highlighter for the little nuggets I don’t want to forget. I’ve given away several copies as gifts!

Just Open the Door
My favorite (in)courage book is 'Just Open the Door' by (in)courage contributor Jen Schmidt! It has given me such a bigger perspective of what it means to "live a life of welcome!" Instead of feeling guilty because I don't invite people over as much as I "ought" to, 'Just Open the Door' showed me how to live a life of hospitality on the go! I'm so grateful for this gift of grace that has helped me see that hospitality is about making a difference right where we are, using what we already have!

Be Good Friends note cards
If you want to put a little happy in someone's mailbox, send them a personal note on a 'Be Good Friends note card'. I've gone through boxes of these beautiful note cards, but I've also received notes from others using them! As soon as I open the envelope, I feel a kindred-ness to the sender. Plus, the Scripture is a perfect reflection of friendship.

The Struggle is Real Canvas Pouch
You know when a friend is struggling and you want to help but there really isn't anything you can do? One of the most powerful things we can do is say, "I see you." I love doing that is by giving a little gift and (in)courage's 'The Struggle is Real - Canvas Pouch' is perfect. Fill it with mints, lip balm, pack of tissue, and an encouraging note and you have a simple, meaningful way to show a friend that she isn't alone in her struggle -- because you see her and God does too.

Brave Wear-One, Share-One Necklace Set
When I was young, my sister and I had one of those heart-shaped necklace sets that said ‘best friends’. You know – the ones that were split down the middle, only making the full heart when the two were put together? The 'Wear-One, Share-One necklace sets' are my favorite because they’re beautiful, meaningful, and a nod to those ‘best friends’ sets from my childhood. They’re a sweet visual reminder that someone else is cheering you on to embrace the word written on the pendant. What a wonderful way to bless a friend or sister!
