I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart because I have overcome the world.
John 16:33 NLT

This year, the unshakable peace of Christ is our focus. It is our solace from the troubles that face us in the world. Because we believe in Him and the power of the Holy Spirit, we can be filled with unshakable peace.

Take heart, take courage—He has overcome the world.

And even as we wait for His return, we have full access to peace in Him. An unshakable peace in an unshakable God.

John 16:33 holds a great promise and brings great comfort. These are the words Jesus spoke to His disciples before His arrest, crucifixion, death, resurrection, and ascension. Jesus knew what was ahead for the disciples and followers, but they did not. Jesus prepared these people for grief, doubt, persecution, suffering, confusion and more.

Jesus prepared people for the next chapter of the story. The story written on the pages of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation-the story that end with His Return!

But when life gets tough, our part in His story is unfolding one chapter at a time—one page at a time—sentence by sentence. Life holds countless chapters—short chapters, long chapters, and chapters with twists and turns. And we do not know how or when any chapter ends.

But take heart, take courage, find peace in Jesus. No chapter can change the end of the story, but every chapter changes us. This is by His design.

Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Romans 5:1-5 ESV

In this world we will have trouble, and we have a promise of peace in Him. An unshakable peace, in an unshakable God. A God who is right on time, all the time.
