Any time you mention "DaySpring" or include a text link to a DaySpring item on your site, you could be using an affiliate link and receive commission on any sales you drive to DaySpring.com.
The below instructions walk you through inserting text links and photos to specific products from DaySpring.com. Just follow the instructions below to get started!
Sign up as a Commission Junction Affiliate -OR- a ShareASale Affiliate. You will receive the same commissions through either program and you do not need to sign up for both. The same buttons and banners are offered through both programs.
You will receive approval for our affiliate program 24-48 hours after applying.
After you are approved, log in to your CJ account and follow these instructions to locate the datafeed:
Once you’ve opened “Get HTML”, you’ll have several options of HTML code to choose from. Below are examples of how to select the HTML code for text links as well as images.
Here’s an example of a text link. This is the 2nd box of HTML code listed. Notice the Blue text in the top of the image “Redeemed- Truly Treasured- Wallet”. This is exactly how the text will appear in your post. It IS possible to change this text. To do so, just change the underlined portion of the code below, between top”> and </a>.
Here’s an example of what the code will look like for an image. This code appears directly below the large image of the product. Be sure and highlight the code in its entirety before you insert it into your post.
It is possible to add affiliate links to your own personal photos AND your own text! Take a look at the highlighted portion of the code above. This is the hyperlink you’ll add as a URL to your existing text. You’ll want your link to start with http:// and end with 5 digits. These 5 digits make up the SKU number that identifies the item you are linking to.You do not need to include the quotes at the beginning or end of the link.
Log in to your SAS account, and follow these steps to locate the datafeed:
You’ll now see two tabs for “Text Link” and “Large Image Links.” You’ll also see a “Must Link To” URL at the top of this Product Link Information tab. If you’d like to create your own link (ie add affiliate links into your existing text), you may use this link.
Here’s what you should see for text link options for this particular product:
You have a variety of different text links to choose from. Find one that suites your blog, and if you would like to change the wording of any of the above links, you can do so. The underlined areas are the text that you can edit and change.
Now click over to Large Image Links. Keep in mind that you can change the size of the image on your blog, once you have it inserted.
Notice that you do have the option under “Large Image Links” to choose code for just the image of the product, and another option for the image as well as a text link. This may be the best option for your post. This way your readers have two opportunities to click on the product, and the name/description of the item is clearly stated. You can still change the highlighted text above.
At the top of the Product Link Information, there is a ‘Must Link To’ URL. This URL has to be included in your affiliate links for you to receive commission. This is especially important if you make any changes to the HTML code provided for you. If you’d like to add an affiliate link to your own photography or text, you can add this URL to your post.
I hope this helps explain how to use affiliate links in your review post! I promise it’s not as overwhelming as it looks.
Don’t be afraid to test your links to make sure they are working correctly. You will not be penalized for clicking through your own affiliate links! To ensure your affiliate link is included in your URL, just scroll over your text link or image, and in the bottom left hand side of your browser window, you’ll see the URL for that particular link. For Commission Junction, all URL’s begin like: www.kqzyfj.com/click-1234567-12345678 (the letters will vary. The first set of numbers is your personal identification number (PID). The 2nd set of numbers is the ID code for the product you are linking to).
In ShareASale, www.shareasale.com will always appear before your affiliate links.
