Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps His covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes His unfailing love on those who love Him and obey His commands. DEUTERONOMY 7:9 NLT

Few people would say “no,” when asked if they desire to live “fruitful” lives. Most of us aspire to live “productively.”

We may define fruitfulness differently, but there’s a common ground. The most fruitful lives align with God and His character. Fruitful people draw from the faithful promises of God. They know who they are because they know whose they are. So, if the recipe for fruitful living is following God, shouldn’t we know who our God is and what He can do? Let’s look at what Scripture says about our faithful Father.

God’s Word says that in Him we live and move and exist (Acts 17:28 AMP), but what else does His teaching mean for our identity and way of living?

  • When we express our faith in Christ, we are joined to Him and made new; our former way of living is no more (II Corinthians 5:17 AMP).
  • We have in us the same great and mighty power that God used to raise Christ from the dead (Ephesians 1:19–20 CEV).
  • We are chosen people with a purpose: to tell others about the goodness of God and how He called us out of darkness into His wonderful light (I Peter 2:9 NLT).

God, thank You for Your life-giving promises! Thank You for all that You are and all that I can be in You! May I live according to Your precepts and promises.
