I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid. JOHN 14:27

Jesus gives amazing gifts such as peace of mind and heart. And how can we tap into these gifts? Sometimes it is just a matter of allowing ourselves to rest. With rest, we can get into the habit of letting go of our worries and concerns, and we can exchange them for God’s peace of mind.

For many years, I dealt with anxiety. I found myself struggling and having days where I couldn’t quite understand what was going on inside. Through counseling I learned that I was experiencing anxiety and at times even panic attacks. This helped me because then I knew what to pray against and what to ask God for deliverance from. My anxiety was rooting in my heart and my emotions. The gifts God placed within me were under attack, and I was able to use God’s Word more effectively when I had a better understanding of what was happening to me. After I asked God for deliverance from anxiety, I asked Him for peace of mind and heart.

If you’re dealing with something particular, I encourage you to reach out for help and talk to a professional who can help you identify and understand your circumstances so that you can use God’s Word more effectively. As for me, I no longer say, “I have anxiety.” I changed it to “I am healed of anxiety.” In my circumstances, I found that only Jesus and His presence and His Word can get my mind and my heart back to a healthy place. It is so worth it to let Him have the last word over your situation.

Prayer

Father, I give You my mind and my heart. The issues of my heart, the things that plague my mind, I give them over to You. I release all anxiety and panic, as well as any issue that arises within me. Thank You for reminding me that You are the answer. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
