Trusting Me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world. JOHN 16:33 THE MESSAGE

Is it possible for us to have peace in the midst of things that challenge our faith and fill us with doubt, or the noise of the news reports, or even the steady pressure of our everyday lives? The constant distractions can cause our thoughts to bounce around from one thing to another until we feel mentally exhausted and physically tired. It all feels nonstop, making peace seem unattainable.

The deep peace God gives is found in deeply trusting Him to take care of us. Doubt is very good at being a mental noisemaker. It sidetracks us from experiencing the peace that sustains our hope when life gets hard. Being alone can bring our hearts and minds back to a peaceful state, where we can tap into the love and truth that silences the doubt. A short walk boosts our sense of well-being and makes us happier. Anytime we get out of the rut we get refreshed enough to gain a little peace and go a little further.

God is never going to leave us. Any thoughts that suggest we’ve messed up too many times, taken too many wrong turns, or disappointed Him too many times are lies showing up to steal our peace. Jesus knows that trusting Him makes us unshakable and assured, so find a few moments of solitude to settle into that truth today. The peace you need won’t be far behind.

Dear God, Give me a deeper trust so I can live with a deeper peace. I know You have everything in my life worked out for my good and Your glory. I never need to doubt Your perfect love.
