Diving Right In

Jan 16, 2020 by: Katy Fults

Have you ever stood on the edge of a pool, knowing the water was going to be pretty cold but also knowing that you were going to have to eventually jump in? You have this inner monologue with yourself over whether or not you should go for it. Sometimes you even talk yourself into believing it is so much colder than it actually is. But you know it has to be done, so you take a deep breath and dive in. Sure, it’s chilly at first. But then after a few seconds, your body adjusts to the temperature, and you realize you’re glad you did it.

Maybe you’re standing on the edge of something in your life and you know you have a decision to make. You know you can either stay on this ledge, looking at what lies ahead and letting the fear of the unknown control you, or you can dive right in. You can take a deep breath and jump into the uncertainties and the unknowns, trusting that God is going to be holding your hand and guiding you. You might not need to plug your nose for this jump, but you definitely need to keep praying.

You need to keep on patiently doing God’s will if you want Him to do for you all that He has promised. (Hebrews 10:36 TLB)

We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but GOD’s purpose prevails. (Proverbs 19:2 The Message)

He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20 ESV)

Prayer:
God, I am taking a deep breath and jumping into uncertainties. I know You will not leave my side.
