Wait in Prayer

Fear is a constant companion in our waiting rooms. It whispers, “God hasn’t answered your prayer because He doesn’t care.” Or, “God is not in control, you are.” And, “Stop waiting for Him and do what you think is best because He’s busy helping someone else.” These lies can make waiting feel like a slow, dull knife cut. But when our waiting rooms turn into prayer rooms, fear cannot survive – its voice goes mute. Prayers release an incense of trust, belief, faith, and love that fear cannot be part of. So turn your waiting into the pleasing aroma of prayer. God hears and cares about every word, every petition. He is with you, and He will answer in His perfect timing and way.

The Lord is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayers of the righteous. (Proverbs 15:29)

I waited patiently for the Lord, and He turned to me and heard my cry for help. He brought me up from a desolate pit, out of the muddy clay, and set my feet on a rock, making my steps secure. (Psalm 40:1-2)

When you pray, go into your private room, shut your door, and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you. (Matthew 6:6)

Lord, I pray for Your peace and patience while I wait. Help me be content and focused on the work of my hands until Your answers come. Help me to truly embrace and live in Your faithful love that doesn’t grow dim.
