The Unchanging Love in Our Ever-Changing World

My God is changeless in His love for me. PSALM 59:10 TLB 

We live in a world where things change constantly. High and low tides change with the moon’s gravitational pull on earth. The sun rises and sets at different times every day. Seasons, weather patterns, and landscapes change. On a personal level, our moods, circumstances, and relationships change. We find ourselves having to adjust to changes that are welcome and some that are not so welcome. The only way we can remain unshaken in our ever-changing lives is by being constantly aware of God’s unchanging character and changeless love. Not a single thing can move us off the mark of His remarkable love. 

Nothing can ever separate us from His love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, or where we are—high above the sky, or in the deepest ocean—nothing will ever be able to separate us from the love of God demonstrated by our Lord Jesus Christ when he died for us. ROMANS 8:38-39 TLB 

That’s seriously immovable love. God likes to show up in our lives to show how constant His love is. Love looks like the time He made something happen for us that couldn’t be explained by anything other than His miracle-working hand. Love is the light in our children’s eyes, shining on the truth that they’re a priceless gift. Love is the pang in our heart when we see someone in need and know God has given us the way to meet it. Love is the kindness of a neighbor or friend that comes at the perfect time in the best way. God’s love is the only thing that changes lives in a world that seems like it’s moving in the wrong direction. 

Let’s change our day in a God way. Has our heart been nudging us to do a kindness for someone that we haven’t done yet? Is there someone we can show a little more patience with, or a situation we can be more understanding about? It doesn’t have to be a big thing to make the love of God shine in a big way. 

Father, I want my hands, heart, resources, and life to be moved by Your changeless love.
