The Power of the Tongue

We may not realize it all the time, but the words we say are serious. The Word tells us that there is life and death in the power of the tongue. We can use our words to build up or tear down. We can use our words to create freedom or create a mental prison. We can use our words to discourage or uplift. That goes not only when we speak to others but also how we talk to ourselves. There are people in the world who are really struggling right now. What you say can help heal and point them in the right direction. Your words can also drive that wedge in their hearts deeper so they sink lower. We must be careful. Next time you feel discouraged or down, ask God to speak life over you. Ask Him for the right words to say to yourself. Ask Him to help you be a light in the dark places. And then follow His lead. He will show you the way to shine bright and live fully.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear. MATTHEW 13:43 NIV

God, thank You for placing everything in my life, even things I can’t quite understand. I just know what’s in my life, You have it here to teach and transform me. I know You will bring me into the purpose I was created for. I will cling to this as I walk through each season.
