Spiritual Growth

The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree,

He shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.

Those who are planted in the house of the LORD

Shall flourish in the courts of our God.

They shall still bear fruit in old age;

They shall be fresh and flourishing.

Psalm 92:12–14 NKJV

What an awesome privilege and blessing it is to be the parent of a newborn baby. There are no words to describe the joy a new life brings to a family. The heart's desire of every parent should be to see each child grow and mature physically and spiritually, in wisdom, and in all God has for their lives.

Each parent has an important contribution to make in the development of a child's life. As a parent you can sow the seeds of God's Word into the hearts of your children. You can also pray that each seed will take deep root, be nourished by the showers of God's blessing, bathed with the sunshine of His grace and love, and become abundantly

fruitful in every aspect of life.

Tomorrow we will learn more about praying for growth in knowing Christ. We will pray intentionally about developing a personal relationship with Christ. Today, prepare your heart for this time of devotion with this short prayer:

Lord, help those around me to get to know You. Teach them all about the joy of Your presence, the love that flows from Your heart and Word, strengthening each and every one of us, and Your delight in justice. Share Your Spirit with them, that they may grow in every good way.

They are under his personal care. {Psalm 92:13 TLB}
