Praise the Name of Jesus

If there’s one thing Satan hates to hear more than the name of Jesus, it’s hearing it said in praise – through worship, song, and prayers of thanksgiving. That’s because, when we praise God, our attention goes to His presence, His goodness, and most of all, His love. And “perfect love drives out fear” (I John 4:18). Through His perfection, no weapon formed against us can prosper, and that includes the ugly forces of fear. Even the demons know and understand the power of His light and love, so much so they cringe and flee at the mere mention of His name.

Whatever demons are harassing you today, ward them off with the power of a name: Jesus! Shout goodbye to them with boldness as you welcome the Savior into your heart and release your tongue with praise.

Even the demons believe – and they shudder. (James 2:19)

On the basis of faith in His name, it is the name of Jesus which has strengthened this man whom you see and know; and the faith which comes through Him has given him this perfect health and complete wholeness in your presence. (Acts 3:16 AMP)

Let them praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted. His majesty covers heaven and earth. (Psalm 148:13)

There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love. (I John 4:18)

Jesus! I call to You today and claim Your power and presence in my life. I lift my praise and command the enemies of fear, discouragement, doubt, and everything else that holds me down to flee. I breathe in more of You and rejoice with a song in my heart for the peace and rest that only You can give.
