Paying it Forward

Paul wrote a letter to Philemon, asking him to forgive a runaway servant and welcome him back with open arms, receiving him as a member of the family. That is exactly what he had become: a member of God’s family, a sibling in the faith. Paul was confident that Philemon would honor this request, because Philemon was a man who knew that he himself had been forgiven; he himself had been set free. He knew he was blessed to be part of God’s family.

When we know we have been blessed, we find no greater joy than passing on that blessing to others, finding ways to give back or pay it forward. Share the freedom.

It makes no difference whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a freeman, a man or a woman, because in Jesus the Anointed, the Liberating King, you are all one. Galatians 3:28 VOICE

As you share your faith with others, I pray that they may come to know all the blessings Christ has given us. My friend, your love has made me happy and has greatly encouraged me. It has also cheered the hearts of God’s people. Philemon 1:6–7 CEV

I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings. 1 Corinthians 9:23 NLT

You have been treated generously, so live generously. Matthew 10:8 THE MESSAGE

Jesus, show me ways that I can express my love for You by blessing others as You have blessed me. Help me to give freely, cheerfully, and generously
