Love Him With All Your Heart

What does the LORD your God ask of you except to fear the LORD your God by walking in all his ways, to love him, and to worship the LORD your God with all your heart and all your soul? Keep the LORD’s commands and statutes I am giving you today, for your own good. (DEUTERONOMY 10:12-13)

Our God is a jealous God. He loves us with abandon and has pursued each one of us with His faithful and endearing love. He is all-in with us as His children. His desire for us does not diminish or waver. And because He is so completely committed to covering us with grace upon grace, He wants the same in return. He wants us to love Him as much today as we did the first day we accepted Him into our hearts (Revelation 2:4). The outpouring of emotion and thanksgiving and love we first felt toward Him, He wants that from us every day, especially through our storms, when our need for Him is most apparent.

His love is all-encompassing. There is no height nor depth, no distance far or wide that His love doesn’t call out to us. He wants us to see the beauty that lies in His divine romance in all aspects of our lives. Revelation 3:16 says it’s better to be cold or hot, not lukewarm. He refers to lukewarm as being stale and stagnant (THE MESSAGE), yet He is far from that toward us. His love is fresh, and His mercies are new (Lamentations 3:22-23). He wants our faith—our belief in Him and His ability to complete His promises in our lives—to be unwavering. He wants our lives to be living testimonies that He is our God, and that we love Him with all of our hearts, all our souls, all our minds, and all our strength (Deuteronomy 6:5).

May we never be too busy, become too burdened, get so distracted, or allow ourselves to be too preoccupied to bask in the glory that is ours when we are still and know that He is God. He is our God for eternity. He is “I AM WHO I AM” (Exodus 3:14), and that will never change. Praise Him!

Yahweh,

My Lord, I ascribe to You the glory due Your name; I worship You in the splendor of Your holiness. I love You with all my heart, mind, soul, and strength. You are all good, and I am grateful that You pursued me, sacrificed Your Son for me, forgave me, and cover me with Your grace and love every day.

To You be all glory, honor, and praise. Amen.
