Leaving the Past There

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. ISAIAH 42:18

Sometimes we find ourselves with regrets about our past, but we need to leave them there. God loves us and wants us to give ourselves grace. He wants us to live in the present rather than in the past. We all make mistakes. Thankfully, God can redeem it all. He restores the mess, hurt, pain, tears, and more. Even though we may not have been aware of Him, He has always been by our sides. We can trust in the plan of the God who loves us! Let’s remember what we learned earlier—He is for us and He is still good, even in the hard times.

The past is best left there, in the past. We can’t change it. I know people in my life that bring up the past a lot and question why things happened the way they did. They have let those situations bother them not just for days but for years, decades even. Instead of trying to wrack our own brains to understand, we can trust that because God loves us there will be brighter days ahead.

GO FOR IT!

Stop trying to figure it all out by yourself. Don’t let the hurt of the past continue to bother you today. Instead, focus on God’s love for you. God knows our hearts and what each of us needs, and today, trust in that rather than your own understanding of any situation.
