Just Forgiven

Have you made choices in your life that you still deeply regret? Are there things you struggle with today? In your heart of hearts, you long to do great things for God, but you wonder: how could He possibly use someone like me? Well, guess what? You’re in good company! The Bible is full of mixed-up, messed-up people that God still used. Those men and women were all too human. They had serious character flaws. They made major mistakes. But God worked in them and through them to accomplish great and mighty things for His kingdom.

The Bible tells us it’s in our weakness that God’s power and strength is revealed. Through the cracks in our broken, messed-up lives, His light shines. People can see that it’s not us but Jesus at work in us. We don’t have to be perfect, just forgiven. Willing and available. Each and every day, by God’s grace, ordinary people like us do extraordinary things for Him.

God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. I Corinthians 1:27 NIV

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. II Corinthians 4:7 NLT

Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. II Corinthians 12:9 NIV

My dear friends, remember what you were when God chose you. I Corinthians 1:26 CEV

Jesus, thank You for Your steadfast love, forgiveness, mercy, and grace. Let my life today be a reflection of Your beauty and bring You great glory
