His Love is There

Blessed be the LORD, for he has wondrously shown his faithful love to me in a city under siege. (Psalm 31:21) 

Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us]. (I Corinthians 16:14 AMP) 

Lord,  

This world can be frightening – headlines read of attacks and pandemics, and chaos is rampant. It seems that wherever I look, there is a city or family under siege. And yet Your love abounds. It shines brighter than my best of days and is a beacon of hope on the scary ones. Your love is there for whenever and however I need, and for this I am grateful. 

As I go through this day, help me to have pure motives in my actions and words. Help me to put “self” aside and really see the needs around me. Give me a heart of compassion for reaching out and truly loving others through service or encouragement, even if all I do is make eye contact and give a smile. Help me to make a difference in how others see You – the exalted and omnipotent God of love. 

Praise to Your holy name. Amen.
