From Our God to Your God

My tears have been my food day and night, while all day long people say to me, “Where is your God?” PSALM 42:3

Our life is a testimony in the good times and the bad. When we succeed, people watch for how we’ll handle the victory. When we work through a trial, people watch our response to the stress. And when we are knocked down, eyes are on us to see if God is really working in our lives. Is He as personal and intimate as we say He is? Will our actions parallel the words we speak about our faith?

It’s a turning point where you may ask the same question for yourself because it’s literally the place your heart may find nothing worth living for except the answer: He is Yahweh, and He is with me.. He changes from being our God to your God; from our help to your help, and from a friend we have in Jesus to a friend you have in Jesus. His hand of mercy and heart of compassion are not only ours; they are yours.

Father, thank You for being my God.  Thank You for being my Savior and my friend. Thank You for knowing the number of hairs on my head and the places of my heart that are broken and hurting. I call on Your Spirit to surround me with Your presence. Hem me in and hold me close.  Be my God in this moment and through this night. Even though tears have been my food day and night, may others see how close and personal You are. Let them see the lifeline You are—not just to me, but for them as well. My hope is in You, and I will praise Your holy name, my Savior and friend.

GLORY TO YOU ALWAYS. AMEN.
