Do Unto Others

Do you like it when people take the time to ask you about yourself and truly listen for your answer? Do you dislike it when others look around like they’re distracted while you’re talking with them? Think of the things that you appreciate and the things you’d like to change about the way people treat you… and then apply that to your own actions. Jesus’ call to do unto others as we’d have done unto us is simple and straightforward. If you complain about something others do, then make a point to never do that. If you’re blessed by something, then remember it and do likewise. Sometimes we make the Golden Rule more complicated than it is. Sure, there are big ways to bless others, but it’s the little everyday interactions that can add up to mean the most.

Treat others just as you want to be treated. (Luke 6:31 CEV)

And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. (Hebrews 10:24 ESV)

Through love serve one another. (Galatians 5:13 ESV)

Friends, don’t go along with evil. Model the good. The person who does good does God’s work. (III John 1:11 MSG)

Don’t let me complicate it, Lord. Show me how to love well, every day.
