Christ Died for You

When you look at and think on the word sinner, there is no good or just thought to put with it – sin is all that is bad. And yet, while all of humanity was full of sin, God in all His humility, goodness, and love poured down His holy oil of grace – Jesus – to remove sin’s effects on all who receive Him. That is pure love.

“It is an unseemly sight to see God humbling Himself and man exalting Himself; to see a humble Savior and a proud sinner.” – Thomas Watson

For I passed on to you as most important what I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures. (I Corinthians 15:3 HCSB)

For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. (Romans 5:6 NASB)

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death – even to death on a cross. (Philippians 2:8 HCSB)

But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8 NIV)

Lord, thank You for dying for me. My gratitude runs to the core of my heart. I love You.
