Breathe In

When you stop to think about it, breathing itself is its own miracle—one that happens anywhere from 17,000 to 30,000 times a day, depending on your age! In order to keep on living, laughing, talking, and loving, we have to keep on breathing. It’s the way God designed for us to get the energy from the outside to the inside of us, fueling our bodies as needed. It’s a second-by-second reminder of our critical reliance upon the divine breath of God who brings us life in the first place. Should He want to, God could withdraw His breath from His creatures, and all life would instantly cease. Fortunately, He wants the opposite: to fill His people with His breath of life—not only to keep your physical heart pumping and body running, but also to fill you with His Spirit so you can live this life to its fullest.

When you breathe in deeply by reading and believing His Word, you are filled with supernatural energy, joy, and power to exhale God’s amazing grace into the world around you. This morning, take a deep breath, drawing on God’s incredible goodness and love for you. Then look for all the ways God brings you today to breathe out His grace everywhere you go.

The heavens were made by the word of the Lord, and all the stars, by the breath of His mouth.
