7 Days of Prayers for Moms
Motherhood is hard, challenging, beautiful, God-blessed work. It takes kindness and grace and love that overflows. It takes time and energy and patience that we sometimes struggle to find. Coming back to the Father over and over again is the only way to be renewed, rested, and equipped with the patience and grace to extend to your children that He constantly extends to us. Use the following seven days of prayers as a guide for your prayer life, equipping you in the Spirit and encouraging your heart.
Day 1:
The High and Exalted One, who lives forever, whose name is holy, says this: “I live in a high and holy place, and with the oppressed and lowly of spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly and revive the heart of the oppressed.” ISAIAH 57:15
Father, Your presence is all around—from the heights of the heavens to the bottoms of the seas. You rejoice in my victories, and You comfort me in my trials. Revive me in the year ahead, Lord. Renew my strength for the coming events. Heal my wounds from last year’s battles and instill in me a fresh and new passion for another year of motherhood in the fullness of Your joy. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
Day 2
Those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint. ISAIAH 40:31
Father, I confess I often trust in myself more than I trust in You, and I get tired! Please forgive me for putting You second. I look to You this day and year ahead with full faith and belief that You are with me and You will help me with all that I face much better than I can do on my own. Knowing this gives me great peace, assurance, and rest for my spirit, and I am grateful to know I am not alone. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
Day 3
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, and see, the new has come! II CORINTHIANS 5:17
Jesus, I am so thankful to know that, since accepting You as my Savior, I am no longer the lost and hopeless person I used to be. You have given me a new start, a clean slate, and a fresh beginning at life. In turn, I have given birth and new life and a fresh beginning in this world to my children. Help me to balance my roles between being a parent and being Your child. I am blessed and honored to be both. To You be all glory. AMEN.
Day 4
God, create a clean heart for me and renew a steadfast spirit within me. PSALM 51:10
Lord, I am so sorry for the ways I fall short of saying and doing the right things, especially in front of my family. It’s hard not to let negative thoughts and habits slide into each day. Please give me a new and fresh determination to think positively and to act with pure motives that are consistent with a testimony that honors You. In Jesus’ name. AMEN.
Day 5
The instruction of the LORD is perfect, renewing one’s life; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the inexperienced wise. PSALM 19:7
O Lord, how I love Your Word and the wisdom I gain each time I read it. There are answers to my questions and countless verses expressing Your faithful love for me. But even more, when I read through the pages, I hear from Your heart and get to know You better each day. Thank You for helping me navigate the twists and turns of this life of mine. I would be lost without Your instruction and help. In Your name. AMEN.
Day 6
Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. II CORINTHIANS 4:16 ESV
Lord, physical changes from childbirth and the passing years reveal I’m slowly changing and getting older, but in the light of Your love I couldn’t feel more alive and ready to face each new day. Knowing and serving You brings joy and strength with a steadfast endurance deep within. It’s an energy and passion that nothing else compares to. You are an awesome God. In Your precious name. AMEN.
Day 7
Turn my eyes away from vanity [all those worldly, meaningless things that distract—let Your priorities be mine] and restore me [with renewed energy] in Your ways. PSALM 119:37 AMP
Yes, Lord, please do turn my eyes away from all that doesn’t matter in light of eternity. Trying to be the perfect mom saps my energy, but fulfilling my purpose in You gives renewed passion and strength. Guide me in the way of Your truth and keep me in the center of what matters most to You and to my family. AMEN.
