Obeying His Voice
Later in our marriage we were living on the west coast. One day my wife and I had returned to our apartment from a Sunday church service. As I was about to place the key in the lock my wife said…
“I believe that the Lord wants me to take a bag of groceries over to Jane’s.” Jane was a single parent with two young daughters. She lived a few doors down from us. When we entered our apartment my wife walked straight to the pantry and began to fill up a bag with various grocery items. “I’ll be right back,” she exclaimed as she quickly walked out our frontdoor.
When she arrived at Jane’s, she knocked on the door and waited. Jane came to the door and looked a bit puzzled when she saw my wife standing there with a grocery bag in her hands…
“The Lord told me to give this to you,” my wife replied. “Please receive it from Him.” Tears immediately came to Jane’s eyes. “You won’t believe this,” Jane responded, “My girls and I were seated at the dining table when I heard your knock. I had just finished praying and thanking the Lord for our lunch today even though we had no food in the house to eat. I know the Lord sent you here at the perfect time.”
“The Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you....”
II THESSALONIANS 3:3 KJV
